The life of each poster is so brief and fragile…

The exhibition Poster after life reflects memories of our streets and cities. This is a nostalgic project filled with longing for what has passed away. In her works, Gosia Lapsa-Malawska explores the relationship between people and art in public space.

14367810714_343b7f14fc_nSince 2010, she has been photographing and collecting old posters in Europe and South America. Existing posters and scraps became the starting point to create new artwork: posters, oil paintings, graphics, collages. This project brings back to life discarded posters which had previously been displayed in public space.
