Starting from 17 August 2015, Book and Kitchen will only be serving full lunch on weekends (Sat-Sun).
During the week you can still enjoy an array of drinks, baked goods, our home made granola and fresh fruit selections, and soup during the winter season. This change is coming due to the Kitchen being used in the week as an experimental kitchen for new recipes.
The kitchen is the heart of the home, and for us here it is an important part of our bookshop. The best food is made with love, and each of our daily dishes are made right here in our kitchen using fresh, seasonal, local and organic ingredients where possible.*
Book and Kitchen is all about creating a homely environment where people can relax, talk, and read; we don’t have any loud machines, and our single source coffee is served in a French Press. A relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect place to get lost in one of our second hand books, or escape in our garden. A wide range of new books also has something for everyone, here you can find the book you didn’t even know you wanted.
*Book and Kitchen works to ensure that where possible the produce we use is certified Organic or otherwise freshly sourced or traceable. All food is freshly prepared on site. Speciality products are purchased from organic or natural food suppliers. We have foregone the traditional food menu format and only serve daily specials. We make food in small quantities to eliminate on waste. So we occasionally run out of food if we are busier than usual.
Supper Clubs
We run a range of supper clubs at Book and Kitchen which will suit all tastes. We are also available to customise supper clubs for private events. Coming soon supper club menus.
